Ruins of the gold smelters at Chillagoe Mungana National Park, Chillagoe. According to Wikipedia, Chillagoe has one of the most diverse geologies on the planet and mining has been a major activity at Chillagoe in the past. 60,000 tons of copper, 50,000 tons of lead, 181 tons of silver and 5 tons of gold were processed at the smelters between 1901 and 1943. There is very little mining activity in the region now.
